Before becoming a licensed esthetician, owner Jennifer Winkler dedicated more than six years to the medical field, primarily specializing in hospice care. Her passion for caring for others naturally led her into esthetics, where she has combined her medical background with advanced skincare knowledge to create a space where clients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident.
Founded in 2018, The Facial Bar is a family-owned and operated spa proudly serving the Crystal Lake community with personalized, results-driven skincare in a warm, welcoming environment.

Meet McKenna
Makenzie is a licensed esthetician with eight years of experience and a passion for helping clients achieve healthy, radiant skin. She specializes in ProCell Therapy, dermaplaning, and microdermabrasion facials, believing that every treatment should be thoughtfully customized to each client’s unique skin concerns and goals. Through advanced education and a results-driven yet relaxing approach, Makenzie is dedicated to helping clients achieve long-term skin health while providing a luxurious experience.
When she’s away from The Facial Bar, you’ll usually find Makenzie reading outside with her fur baby, Henry, or trying new recipes in the kitchen. Her favorite treatment to perform is the Microdermabrasion Facial because she loves revealing brighter, smoother skin and helping clients feel their most confident. Her Starbucks favorite is a strawberry açaí refresher. If she could recommend one skincare product to everyone, it would be a quality moisturizer because healthy, hydrated skin starts with a strong, balanced skin barrier.
McKenna is a licensed esthetician with three years of experience and a dedication to ensuring that her clients can feel confident in their skin. She specializes in customized facials and waxing, believing that every treatment should be just as unique as each client is. By keeping up with new trends and research in the skincare industry, McKenna is committed to delivering exceptional care while helping every client look and feel their best.
When she’s not at The Facial Bar, you’ll likely find her shopping or spending time with friends. Her favorite treatment to perform is a Brow Lamination because she loves helping clients feel confident and beautiful by highlighting their natural features. If you want to make her day, her Starbucks order is an iced chai tea latte. A fun fact about McKenna is that she loves to bake, and if she could recommend one skincare product to everyone, it would be Circadia’s Vitamin C Serum for its ability to brighten the complexion, support collagen production, and leave skin with a healthy, radiant glow.

Meet Hannah
Mia is a licensed esthetician with two years of experience and a passion for helping her clients achieve the clear skin of their dreams. She specializes in acne treatments and believes that each client’s journey to healthy, clear skin is unique and requires a different approach. As an expert in dealing with acne through client education and building a routine of quality products, Mia is dedicated to providing calming and detail-oriented care while helping clients feel comfortable and confident in their skin.
Outside of The Facial Bar, you’ll often find Mia browsing local boutiques or studying as she works toward becoming a nurse. Her favorite treatment to perform is a Custom Facial because she enjoys creating personalized experiences that deliver visible results. Her go-to Starbucks order is a strawberry açaí lemonade. If she could recommend one skincare product to everyone, it would be a hyaluronic acid serum for its ability to deeply hydrate, plump, and maintain a healthy skin barrier.
Hannah is the friendly face that welcomes you to The Facial Bar. As our Front Desk Receptionist and Private Event Coordinator, she is dedicated to making every guest feel comfortable from the moment they walk through our doors. From scheduling appointments and answering questions to coordinating private events and ensuring each visit runs seamlessly, Hannah works behind the scenes to create a warm, welcoming, and personalized experience for every client.
When she’s not at The Facial Bar, you’ll usually find her spending time at home with her dogs or exploring new places around town. Her Starbucks favorite is a matcha latte with strawberry cold foam. A fun fact about Hannah is that she’s been a dedicated vegetarian for years and has a love for both animals and houseplants. Her favorite part of working at The Facial Bar is creating an organized, beautiful environment where every client feels relaxed, cared for, and excited about their self-care experience.
Jennifer is the best! She knows my skin and customizes each facial experience based on my skin's current needs. I always leave feeling more relaxed and looking smoother, more hydrated, and dare I say, younger! I appreciate the extra touches like the facial massage and that she carries and uses vegan products on my skin, too!

I've been getting the Hydro Dermabrasion Facial for several months now and LOVING the results. My skin is so much smoother, the redness is down and it's brighter and more youthful looking. I enjoy the relaxation of the experience her without the fancy fuss. You can get and get out and just have a wonderful 1 hour while you listen to their GREAT play list. :) I highly recommend the Facial Bar. Jennifer, the owner, is lovely to chat with and she cares deeply about her clients and the products they choose to use.

Makenzie has such an incredible eye for detail! She is thorough, calming, and highly skilled. She is an excellent listener and helped me achieve my brow goals. She delivered exactly I wanted for my eyebrow wax and tint appointment. I’m so impressed with how symmetrical and defined my brows look, they have never looked better! She does an excellent job!
